MIRACLE BACK PAIN CURE+++++++++++++++++++++++++

MIRACLE BACK PAIN CURE—————————————

You can even use a poultice made from raw potatoes and apply directly to the sore area. There is a new form of pain relief for aching back. If pain is decreased, you do not need to consult a doctor. Use them liberally until the pain subsides. There are many types of back pains, it can be just as mild as a dull ache or one that causes extreme pain and agony. When the ligaments and muscles supporting the spine are strained, you will experience back pain. Stretch your muscles as far out as you can while ignoring the pain. If you are sedentary, get up from your seat at least once every hour. You might also apply heated pad placed on the sore area. You acquire the knowledge on how to cure back pains and how to use them to achieve the cure, not in a few minutes but according to the length of time that it normally takes place. Another good home remedy is through physical exercise which stimulates the nutrients supply of the spinal discs and hinders the deterioration of the body due to the aging process. Muscles that are strained from excessive physical activities or become spasmodic will usually heal after some time. This over- the -counter patch supplies the same amount of warmth as electric heating pad or sports cream. Listen to your muscles since this is the core of the ache. The best remedy is bed rest. Back pain is the exorbitant premium you have to pay for the kind of lifestyle you are leading today. If ache increases due to your exercise, then stop it but remember that exercise is still a great therapy. Nowadays, miracles are not needed because people like you can use your knowledge in making things happen.

EXERCISE TECHNIQUES—————————————

Keep a straight back all the time. Place the pencil tip firmly and knuckle between your inner ankle bone and Achilles tendon, allowing the larger tendon to run smoothly from your heel bone to the muscles of your calf. Apply deep pressure by pushing it, then holding it for a few seconds, then pushing it, then releasing and pushing and then holding it for a few seconds and release. Pinpoint the area where the skin fold bulges, this is your acupressure point. Exercise 1 – Lie on your back and slowly raise both legs together as far as you can hold your breath. With your heels firmly on the ground, bend your knees and hold on until the count of 10. Continue doing the movement for each side for 1 and 2 sets, repeat from 10 to 20 times. This is the natural miracle which consists in following these simple, easy and effective techniques, tips and guidelines. Now turn your feet in one direction and your head in the opposite direction, then inhale deeply. There are 3 more exercises recommended to ease back aches: Knee bends – Take off your shoes. What is in store for a miracle back ache cure? There are lots of expectations for a much better back ache cure. But there are many other simple and more effective techniques to stretch and strengthen muscles, realign your spine and balance your pelvis. Take a deep breath, counting from 1 to 5 as you continuously inhale and exhale, breathing in and breathing out. Take a deep breath, inhale and exhale repeatedly, doing it again from 5 to 10 minutes. Technique 3.

STATISTICS ON BACK PAIN—————————————

TREATMENT FOR BACK PAINS—————————————

There are two kinds of back pains that must be considered in the treatment. The types of surgery commonly performed are – discectomy which removes the herniated disc that pressurized the nerves, the fusion surgery which is due to vertebra slip and it has to be fused into place by using metal rods and injections at the back to relieve pain. This type can be relieved by over the counter (OTC) painkillers as paracetamol and if a stronger one is needed, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAD) as ibuprofen or one that requires a prescription a mild opiate as codeine taken with paracetamol or NSAD. Exercise is good therapy. Surgery as option. The following conditions required surgery – If the patient has ruptured hernia, the patient make poor response to any medication and the symptoms are getting worst.

CAUSES OF BACK PAINS—————————————

Back pain during pregnancy. On the 3rd trimester of pregnancy, most women complain of back pains. This is due to the added weight and hormonal fibers which expand the sacroiliac joints and widens the size of the birth canal. Sciatica. As the swelling herniated disk thronged on the main nerve which descends upon your legs, you will experience shooting pains in your buttocks and lack of the legs. Arthritis. Osteoarthritis usually hits the joints of the hands, hips, hands and lower body. It causes the narrowing of the spine and spinal cord, leading spinal stenosis which is commonly due to aging. Other factors can cause back aches. Poor posture and body mechanics, emotional stress, heavy weight and obesity, anemia, whiplash, cancer pain, diabetes, aging and piriformes syndrome. Spondylolistheses. This is the result of the instability of the vertebra as it begins to slip. Brought about by degenerative changes, the spinal column loses its normal stabilizing structure.

TYPES OF BACK PAINS—————————————

When you feel pain every time you cough or bend from the waist, you have herniated disk. There will be sharp pain localized in your neck, upper and lower back which happens after you carry heavy objects or do strenuous activities. The pain may last for a few months. You will find it difficult to stand straight for you will experience muscle spasm in your lower back.

COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT—————————————

Use of insoles. Insoles are the arch support in your shoes which provide underside support to the feet. Laboratory studies showed that the shoe insole can be a help in preventing and treating back pains. They absorb the shock of the foot as it touches the ground and support the foot in its proper alignment. Spinal Manipulation. The chiropractor uses his hands to apply sudden pressure to the joint in your back. The goal is to restore spinal movement, improve its function and decrease pain. Spinal manipulation is a low risk technique that gives increase mobility, emotional and psychological benefits. Yoga involves various physical poses and controlled breathing to achieve a calm mind and relaxed body. Aside from improving your physical fitness, it is also an effective therapy in reducing back pain which will last for several months.

RISKS FACTORS—————————————

Studies showed that non-smokers have less complain about back pains than smokers. Women are likely to suffer back pains during pregnancy because of the physical changes in their bodies. Aging has always been unfavorable to health due to its degenerative effects. Back pains are caused by the debilitating conditions brought about by osteoporosis, vertebral fractures, osteoarthritis, degenerative spondylolishtesis, degenerative disk diseases, spinal stenosis, pinched nerves and adult scoliosis.

TESTS AND DIAGNOSTICS—————————————

For the record, diagnostic exams are not really essential but to be secured, you will see your doctor and he will go about checking your back, testing your ability to sit, stand, walk and even lift your leg.

PREVENTION OF BACK PAINS—————————————

Make sure your automobile seat provides for a low back support and use throw pillows when necessary. Here are some tips on how to prevent back pains:Do a lot of exercise on stretching and strengthening your muscles. Sit on a chair with an appropriate height and provided with a good back support. In picking up objects from the floor, do not bend down, instead use your knees then lift the object from one side.

postheadericon Symptoms and Treatment of Spinal Stenosis

canal stenosis

Article by Glenn Betz

Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal that puts pressure on the spinal cord and/or on spinal nerves as they leave the spine. Compression of the nerve interferes with communication between the brain and the body, and results in sensory problems or loss of function to an area of the body. Compression can occur in the spinal canal, in the nerve root canals or the intervertebral foramen. It can be localized to one area or widespread throughout a section of the spine.

CausesSpinal stenosis can be congenital or acquired. Congenital conditions that cause spinal stenosis include scoliosis, a congenitally narrow spinal column or a bone defect called achondroplasia.

Most spinal stenosis is acquired, usually as a result of aging, and it usually appears in individuals over 50 years old. Women are more prone to it than men. Normal degenerative changes that occur with aging are most often to blame, especially if arthritis is also present. Spinal stenosis can also be caused by tumors or injury or as a result of another disease, such as Paget’s disease.

SymptomsThe symptoms of spinal stenosis depend on where the narrowing is. Most spinal stenosis affects the lumbar, or lower back, area. You experience pain radiating down your leg that is relieved if you sit or bend forward. In severe cases, you could lose bowel, bladder or sexual function and have difficulty walking.

The second most common area for spinal stenosis to occur is in your neck, or cervical spine. People with cervical stenosis may feel pain radiating down an arm, or aching, numbness or tingling in the arm or leg. They may have difficulty with fine motor skills, such as picking things up with their fingers or writing, problems walking or loss of bladder and bowel control.

Symptoms usually appear gradually and get worse over time.

TreatmentConservative methods of treatment are used as long as possible. They don’t cure the problem, but most people get relief of their symptoms for quite a while by doing prescribed exercises, including flexion. Most people have good results with physical therapy. Chiropractic, massage and acupuncture often help, too.

Most doctors prescribe muscle relaxers or anti-inflammatory medications to relieve the symptoms of spinal stenosis. If those don’t work, epidural cortisone treatments and nerve blocks may be helpful.

Eventually, many people need surgery to correct spinal stenosis. Outpatient arthroscopic surgery may be sufficient to open up the intervertebral foramen or to relieve pressure from surrounding structures.

Sometimes, however, the entire spinal cord must be decompressed, requiring open surgery. A decompression laminectomy may be necessary to remove enough bone and tissue to relieve the pressure on the spinal column.

Spinal stenosis can be very debilitating. Conservative treatment relieves the symptoms and allows you to function normally for quite a long time. The disease is progressive, however, and eventually surgery is necessary to correct the narrowing and relieve pressure on the nerve.

spinal stenosis

Laminoplasty In India

POSTERIOR CERVICAL LAMINOPLASTY / LAMINAPLASTY

Cervical stenosis can place pressure on the spinal cord in the neck region. The result of pinching of the spinal cord can be an insidious loss of coordination, loss of balance during walking, and even bowel and bladder incontinence…

Laminaplasty – Step 1

India Cervical Laminoplasty The diagram at left shows one way to perform the laminaplasty. A cut is made of the lamina down the middle, then grooves are made at the edges of the lamina that allow the lamina to be hinged open. These cuts are shown in red in the diagram below. The compressed spinal cord is shown in blue…

Laminaplasty – Step 2

India Cervical Laminoplasty, Laminoplasty, Spinal Stenosis The result is a conversion of the area for the spinal cord from a small triangular area to a large rectangular area. This elegant reconstruction allows for the muscles to attach to the new lamina and to provide protection from direct trauma to the spinal cord and protection from the spine falling forward…

Posterior Laminoplasty

In order to reduce the risk of post-operative instability and to avoid a fusion, some surgeons will recommend lifting the lamina on one side and leaving a hinge on the other side.

* The advantage of this technique is that it increases the size of the canal but leaves the posterior tether that helps keep the spine stable. * The disadvantage is that it may not be as easy to decompress the nerves on both sides as they exit the foramen…

Possible Risks/Complications

A laminectomy or laminaplasty may not be successful in releasing compression on the spinal cord if the spine is not in lordosis (normal swayback). In such a case, anterior cervical corpectomy may be necessary to treat the spinal cord compression…

other potential risks include : -

* Dural tear (cerebrospinal fluid leak) * < 1% infection rate * Bleeding * Increased pain * “collapse” of the hinge * Instability in the spinal column * Progressive kyphosis * Death…

After Surgery

If the surgery simply prevents progression of the spinal cord damage (myelopathy) and there is no loss of function due to the surgery, both the patient and surgeon should consider it successful…

Outcome

The results of the surgery are variable since some people have more extensive disease than others.

In general, after the surgery most patients can expect to regain : – * Some spinal cord function.* Improvement in their hand function and walking/balancing capabilities. * Surgery is very effective in reducing the pain in the arms and shoulders caused by nerve compression. However, some neck pain may persist…

* The outcome of treatment for myelopathy is more variable than surgery for radiculopathy. Decompressive procedures such as laminectomy generally arrest progression of myelopathy. The amount of recovery of neurologic function such as balance, coordination, bowel or bladder incontinence depends on the amount and duration of compression, as well as the presence of any permanent damage to the spinal cord.

postheadericon How To Address Your Degenerative Disc Disease Worries And Experience No DDD Back Pain

spinal stenosis

Article by Blaise Breton

Degenerative Disc Disease, or DDD, is highly correlated with age factor. As we mature and grow older the tough and rubbery discs between our vertebrae dry up and lose their cushioning height. For illustration purposes, I associate a spinal disc to Homer Simpsons favorite sofa cushion (the sofa cushion in front of the TV). As years passed by, Homers weight would shatter the sofa ultimately and wear out the fabric. While the outcome for Homer was perpetual butt-relief, the result of Degenerative Disc Disease for the typical 3-D person sadly, is anything but comfort.

Luckily Degenerative Disc Disease sounds a lot worse than it actually is. It is the degenerative that really bothers me. Well, disease is not such a good word either. But the fact is, DDD affects everyone without any striking symptoms since usually it is not painful. It is a natural part of aging. However, it is when the spinal disc shrinks to the point of vertebrae hitting bone on bone, that nerves are affected and back pain begins. For the two commonly known DDD back pain, these are classified as Cervical (neck) and Lumbar (lower back).

Both types of degeneration cause other back problems such as herniated discs, arthritis or sciatica (pain in the legs) or spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal chord). It is amazing how a small problem in the spine can cause joint and bone inflammation in the fingers and toes. Has anyone ever made an attempt to relate the peripheral nervous system to the Internet? Like the Internet, the nervous system is all over: It conveys body-wide messages, but watch out, it can also instigate body-wide aches.

Spinal Decompression Treatment

Spinal Decompression serves as a good treatment for all types of DDD because the lifting of the vertebrae allows for the spinal disc to repair itself. Then pressure is unloaded off the nerves. Especially in cases of spinal stenosis or sciatica, where surgery option is all encompassing thus a risky procedure, Spinal Decompression is a conservative, yet affective method of treatment.

Having the option of Spinal Decompression puts my mind (which is now on my back) at ease. However, my biggest question (and fear) from all this information has become, is there just a way to keep my spinal discs healthy?

Unluckily at this moment, following proper diet and undergoing regular exercise regimen may not suffice. The root of DDD back pain comes from a loss of collagen (protein) and water in the spinal discs. The loss of water occurs when the number of Proteoglycan Molecules in the discs decreases. So, when Drs. Mark Ewin and Robert Inman from the University of Toronto, Toronto Western Hospital discovered in 2006 that the Notochord Cell (which releases CTGF, which is a connective tissue) regulates production of Proteoglycan, they became hopeful that their research would lay a groundwork for future regeneration of disc cartilage for patients suffering from DDD back pain. One impediment: the only Notochord cells found in humans are in their embryos, and for now this study is steering clear of stem cells!

But thank goodness there is at least progressive research going on that might one day help preserve the spines discs. Good thing for Spinal Decompression in the meantime though! I am just glad that people are facing this fear of back pain not in solitude. So: the gears of research are turning, the spinal decompression machine is pulling: Something is being done to help our backs.

postheadericon herniated disc treatment

spinal stenosis

Article by Marchse

Medical science is always on the lookout for new and improved methods of treatment to provide complete relief to patients suffering from pain or a particular condition. One prominent new back and neck pain treatment option is endoscopic laser spine surgery – a convenient, low-cost alternative to traditional open spine surgery.Endoscopic laser spine surgery is an effective treatment for a wide variety of spine conditions such as sciatica back pain and spinal stenosis. Spinal stenosis treatment often entails surgery to remove the bone spur or portion of the disc that is causing pain by compressing the nerve in the vertebral forum/spinal canal. Spinal Fusion Surgery is a drastic back surgery procedure in which two or more vertebrae are joined together (fused), so that no individual movement occurs in the operated vertebral levels. The idea of the surgery is to permanently connect the vertebrae to each other. This creates a solid piece of bone, rather than a joint that allows movement. To best understand your surgery, it is important to know about your spine. The spinal column surrounds and protects your spinal cord. Your spinal column is made up of 24 vertebrae (bones), plus the sacrum and the tailbone (coccyx). Each vertebra is separated by shock-absorbing discs. These discs give your spine flexibility to move and bend. Nerves branch out from your spinal cord and pass through openings in these vertebrae to other parts of your body. What is Cervical Spine Surgery? The goal of cervical spine surgery is to relieve pain, numbness, tingling and weakness, restore nerve function and stop or prevent abnormal motion in the spine. Your surgeon does this by removing a disc or a bone and fusing the vertebrae together with a bone graft either in front of or behind the spine. The bone graft may be one of two types: an autograft (bone taken from your body) or an allograft (bone from a bone bank). Sometimes metal plates, screws or wires are also used to further stabilize the spine. These techniques are called instrumentation. When the vertebrae have been surgically stabilized, abnormal motion is stopped and function is restored to the spinal nerves. For decades, spine surgeons have used large incisions to treat spinal conditions. Large and invasive incisions necessitate patients be hospitalized and includes extensive rehabilitation and a lengthy and painful recuperation. Since the early 1970s, the arthroscope has been utilized to operate on knees and shoulders.Patient BenefitsThis type of minimally invasive surgery is performed on an outpatient basis using a local anesthetic. Since general anesthesia is not used, surgical risks are less. Endoscopic surgery and use of endoscopic tubes minimizes muscle and other soft tissue damage. Patient benefits include less bleeding during surgery, reduced postoperative discomfort, fewer and smaller incisions, minimal scar tissue formation, and a speedier recovery. In addition, patients can avoid hospitalization and spinal fusion.Endoscopic Spine Procedures: A foraminotomy is a medical procedure that relieves the pressure of compressed nerves in the intervertebral foramen. The intervertebral foramen is the natural opening or the hollow passage in the vertebra that allows for nerve roots to exit from the spinal cord or the spinal canal to various targeted areas of our body. Causes of nerve root compression may be bone, disc or scar tissue in the foramen causing a pinched nerve. This procedure is done by enlarging the hollow passage at the exit point of the nerve roots.

postheadericon Lazer Surgery for the Spine! What You Need to Know

Article by Dale Anthony

“Laser” is an acronym for Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation, a unique type of light energy produced by man. Laser light is different than visible light in its characteristics of collimation (all emitted light is almost perfectly parallel), coherent (light waves are all in phase in both time and space) and monochromatic (one specific wave length).

The principle of lasing phenomena is the ability of photons to stimulate the emission of other photons, each having the same wave length and direction of travel. When a photon passes close to an excited electron, the electron will become stimulated to emit a photon that is identical in both wave length, phase and spatial coherence to the impinging photon.

The laser that’s often employed in Lazer Surgery for the Spine is a 2.1 Holmium YAG Laser which remains today the most effective laser in orthopaedic surgery and specifically in arthroscopic and endoscopic surgery.

Here are some of the conditions that Lazer Surgery for the Spine may help with:

Spinal fusion – the surgical joining of two more vertebrae together, usually with bone grafts and hardware. The resulting fused vertebrae are stable but immobile. Spinal fusion is used as a treatment for spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, herniated discs, and spinal stenosis.

Spinal stenosis – the narrowing of the spinal canal (through which the spinal cord runs), often by the overgrowth of bone caused by osteoarthritis of the spine.

Herniated Disc With age, the center of vertebral discs may start to lose water content, making the disc less effective as a cushion, causing displacement of the disc’s center (herniated or ruptured disc) through a crack in the outer layer. Most disc herniations occur in the bottom two discs of the lumbar spine, at and just below the waist. A herniated disc can press on a nerve root in the spine and may cause back pain or pain, numbness, tingling or weakness of the leg called “sciatica.” Also known as a slipped or ruptured disc, or herniated nucleus pulposus (HNP). Can also occur in the neck and rarely in the thoracic portion of the spine.

Spinal Stenosis The narrowing of the spinal canal (through which the spinal cord runs), often by the overgrowth of bone caused by osteoarthritis of the spine

Degenerative Disc Disease A catch-all term to describe degenerative changes in the disc(s) due to aging or wear and tear.

Failed Open Back Surgery Self Explanatory

Radiculopathy Impairment of a nerve root, usually causing radiating pain, numbness, tingling or muscle weakness that correspond to a specific nerve root.

Sciatica Pain, numbness, tingling in the distribution of the sciatic nerve, which travels from deep in the buttock down to the foot.

Spondylosis A fracture (crack) in the “pars interarticularis” where the vertebral body and the posterior elements, protecting the nerves are joined, In about 5 percent of the adult population, there is a developmental crack in one of the vertebrae, usually at the point at which the lower (lumbar) part of the spine (L5) joins the tailbone (sacrum).

Spondylolisthesis Degenerative When a vertebra slips forward over the vertebra below it as a result of arthritis of the small joints of the spine and degeneration of the discs.

Spondylolisthesis Isthmic When a vertebra with a crack in the “pars interarticularis” where the vertebral body and the posterior elements, protecting the nerves are joined, slips forward over the vertebra below it. Spondylolisthesis can be graded as I, II, III or IV based on how far forward the vertebra has slipped.

Lazer Surgery for the Spine has shown to be effective in treating pain from sciatica, spinal fusion, headache, pinched nerve, back pain, neck pain, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, spinal instability, lumbar arthritis, degenerative disc disease, spondylosis, spondylolisthesis, failed back surgery syndrome, chronic back pain, radiculopathy and many other conditions that can cause severe back pain.
